NAME STAYS ON SALEM SCHOOL: November 18, 2004
Jean Marie Posner of the Board of Education has informed our association that the Douglas T. Jacobson Committee sent a letter to the BOE to withdraw their naming request for South Salem. Instead, that committee has requested the new wing at Weber Middle School be named after the Major along with all veterans. Ms. Posner said our "survey was very helpful and I appreciate your sharing the results. If there are no overriding objections by the Weber parent community, it may come to a vote in December by the BOE."

If there are other safety/traffic issues in New Salem that concern you as a resident, I urge you to contact our councilman Fred L. Pollack at pollackf@northhempstead.com or 869-7698.
