Letter from Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio:

Dear All,

Many of you may have seen the article in the Port News about the Extenet application, however, for those of you that have not, I am sending this e-mail along to inform you that Extenet has filed an application to obtain a right of way agreement with the Town of North Hempstead to permit the company to install cell nodes and equipment in the Town right of way on existing and new utility poles.

I attach for your information, a list of the proposed locations.  The locations are in Port Washington Estates, Manhasset Bay Estates and Bayview Colony.    The Town Board adopted a new telecommunications law earlier this year; under that law every property owner within 300 feet of a proposed installation must receive  notice (certified mail)  of the date, time and place of the hearing.  The Town Board cannot enter into an agreement with Extenet without holding a public hearing first.

If you would like to view the full application that was submitted to the Town, the application is on file in the Town Clerk’s office, but I would call or email in advance for an appointment if you would like to view it in person.

Should you have any questions about the future hearing date or the application itself my successor,  Mariann Dalimonte can be reached, after January 2nd at Dalimontem@northhempsteadny.gov.

This will likely be the last e-mail that you will receive from me as your Councilwoman.   I want to take the opportunity to thank each of you for sharing these e-mails with your respective groups  and for working with me over these last eight years  to do what is best for our community.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy Chanukah and may your 2020 be peaceful and prosperous.

Best,

Dina
